I'd like some opinions (ideally from people who don't own GT350's as well as owners)
Is it a douche move to rev the engine for someone if they haven't asked to hear the engine?.
Yesterday I'm walking into a Tim Hortons and theres a GT350 in the drive thru, driver has his window down so I give him the thumbs up and "nice car", he says Thanks and revs the engine (sport mode)... the place is packed with several cars in line behind him and lots of people walking in and out.
Everyone's head turns to look.
The reason I'm asking the question is I'm conflicted on weather or not this is a douchy thing to do.
I liked the fact he did it because I love hearing the sound of it and this was on a Thursday during the work day, my car was at home undriven since Sunday.
BUT.. I have been in that same situation several times in my own car and NOT revved the engine. even though I suspect the person complimenting me would have appreciated hearing it (as I did) because it FELT douchy
Keep in mind these factors before ranking it on the douche-o-meter:
-lots of regular people around (non car enthusiasts.. trust me I could tell)
-he did not know I owned one
-there was no reason he needed to rev, he wasn't moving
-from the perspective of the OTHER people around who are in earshot but not involved in this interaction...
"Douchy" 2- 3- 4 - who cares- 6- 7 -8- 9 "not only acceptable but REQUIRED"
