Should I go 285/30/19 all the way around or what do you recommend? I'm still on the 9 and 9.5 wheel. Suggestions please

Personally, I like the staggered set up. If I was staying on the PP wheels I'd go 275 front - 295 rear, although 295's are a little hard to come by.

Go one size up......265 - 285....plenty of choices there.

Ok thanks, thats a good suggestion.

The past few days i've had a thud sort of sound coming from what makes me think is the tire. I just put air in two of the tires which appeared low (32psi), hopefully that takes care of the problem. I only have 10,200 miles on the car. Might be getting close to needing new tires, the unknown thud concerns me. Not very loud or anything but i can feel it.

I thought 32psi is the recommended cold temp for the tires? Have you checked your door?

Are you getting different wheels, or just mounting wider tires on the stock wheels?

I normally try and keep them around 36, but this morning they were hovering around 31-32. I havent checked the pressure in a while, just checked when i started hearing the thud.

Keeping my TSW wheels which are the same size as the PP wheels. I'm leaning toward the Nitto 555g2 tire. If i did the setup at the top would it be
265/40/19 and 285/35/19

If you have any thoughts on the thud besides just being low on tire pressure i'm all ears. Not very high mileage as i stated before

What do you mean, did i check my door?

Any reason for not considering their 255/40 and 275/40?

Unfortunately, Nitto doesn't feel obligated to provide tire tread width dimensions. Sometimes that's more useful for making decisions than the advertised size or even the actual measured section width.

Keep in mind that by going up 10mm with both tire sizes, you're stepping them down from a "measuring width wheel" fitment to the slightly softer and less precise "minimum wheel width" fitment.

I have 255 and 275 currently...figured i could add some extra meat on the tires. Tires are so confusing to me lol

I do want to stick with the Nitto 555g2

30 series is too short.
285 is outside the recommended range for a 9" wheel.

I would go 275/35 F & 285/35 rear.

our cars use 255/40R19 and 275/40R19 stock.

So that being said, if you're going with a 275 on the car up front, then it should be a 275/40 if anything.

I know that if/when I replace tires and go wider I'll run a 275/40 up front and a 295/40 out back at least. if it can squeeze it I'd even shoot for a 305/35R19 out back
