Going back to the subject of boost with just swapping the turbo and then datalogging, my last log before I got my first tune showed max boost pressure of 22.48. This was with the LiveLink Gen-II program and was a 2K to 6K WOT in 3rd gear (6MT) At that point I had the Unleashed 93/intercooler/downpipe tune.

Now that I just finished my exhaust, I plan on repeating that pull to first see what my max psi is at, and also to send to Torrie to see if there is some more room for tuning. There should be, but this car just pulls so well up top now. It's like it never wants to stop, which is so opposite of stock. It feels like a completely different car. I hope a revision will give me just a little more down low, but IMO the trade off is worth it.
I'm trying to understand your statements in the top paragraph, do you mind clarifying something for me? When you say you made 22.48psi from 2k to 6k which turbo was this on... the stock or V2? If that's the V2 then that would seem like a very quick spooling turbo. If stock, then 22.48psi at 6k isn't too bad either. Do you mind explaining your mods in detail on both set ups? Thanks, just wanted understand your set up and your impressions.

Seems like he was saying that he did a 2-6k run and his max psi(probably by 4k rpm was 22 psi) this was on the vs2 turbo.......from my experiece so far this seems to build a little over 10 psi at 3k then I see full boost at around 4k, still tuning though. So also hoping for a little more down low

Question About Upgraded Actuator on Stock Turbo

I have a few PM's about the upgraded Actuator mentioned for the EBM running stock turbos. To tell you a little more about it. It is a direct bolt on, with the proper nipple orientation while slightly different that stock, it remains very close to stock appearing. We had to have custom rod ends made for the EBM, as these units usually comes with no rod end. The actuator will allow you to hold boost much better than the stock actuator, but should be coupled with a tune revision to avoid overboost codes. They are $99.00, with $10 shipping in the US. They are in stock, with same day shipping and can be found here. http://performance.vargasturbo.com/mustang-ecoboost/
Are each of the upgraded actuators tested before shipment? Is there a QC stamp or paperwork included with the actuator? I've already placed my order and it shows to have been delivered, I just haven't been to the mailbox yet this week...

I won't be providing anymore feedback for a while due to my engine letting go this morning. I was on the 5th tune revision and during a datalog in 3rd all hell broke lose. I'm not blaming Vargas or Adam for anything, obviously. I'm still not sure what happened myself. Sorry guys!

Man that sucks!!! At least you were logging when it happened. Hopefully we can find out what the cause was. I really hate to hear this.

Turbo everything
Just an update. A person who was making 22 psi max, emailed me, we went back and forth. I told him he 100% had a boost leak. He said he didn't, of course in the end he did, he found it, and thanked me for the help. There is no magic people. There is NEVER magic. If you have a turbo that can support 30+ PSI no problem, if you are maxing out at 22 psi, you have A. Mechanical issue. B. A Boost leak. You find the issue, and away you go. A turbocharger is simply in air pump placed in the exhaust stream, its going to make as much boost as it can unless, the wastegate is open, or the boost is being leaked.

As for the question about the Actuators. Each, and everyone is installed onto an EBM turbocharger, and set up as we think they work best. 16-17 psi cracking, 25-26 psi full stroke. No we do not stamp anything with a GC stamp, nor include paperwork. Simply unbolt the stock actuator, and install the new one. We 100% suggest a tune revision to calibrate your system for the new actuator.

As of right now I don't see full boost until 4500 RPMs. It's rough trying to take off in the lower range.
Sorry to hear that...im on my final revision now...fingers crossed

Wow I am so sorry for you, do you think this was related to the rod giving out or another condition? I am starting to think we might just need to get forged internals before jumping big turbo just in case,,,
