Any one hear anything on when this will be available? I do not want to buy the Tomtop unit if this one is coming soon. But I do have a feeling that it will e about $800 or so
Rosen says during the first quarter of 2016. I think you're right on the price. I'm predicting an MSRP of $799.

We need an update bump.
I e-mailed Rosen a couple of days ago asking when the product will be released and what is its MSRP. This is what I got back:

I don't think this or the Raxiom unit are showing up anytime soon. I'm going with a MFT swap from oemradio on here. Now just gotta get the courage to dump 1k on the setup lol

Any word if Rosen and Raxiom units are just using the tomtop units but fixing the few bugs there are? I know tomtop offered them for private label so I would imagine that is what they are doing but hopefully I am wrong.

people trying to defend sync reminds me of Microsoft defending windows vista lol.
just because YOU don't like it or because YOU have issues with it doesn't mean we all do. Ive not had issues with mine other than a couple times having to get my bluetooth to resent. my ex-wife wife always had issues but her English was horrible and it never underdtood her commands.

I'm not defending it because I have no need too. Works for me

I understand that it's just one picture in the OP, but as a current user of the Tomtop unit (aka the "China Special") I can honestly say that the only difference I'm seeing is the font.

The Tomtop unit currently uses iGo (with free map updates) and also retains SYNC. So other than that...there is nothing advertised here by Rosen to suggest to me that this would be worth (the suspected) $800.

I'd just wait for a dash kit, SYNC/chimes adapter module, and install an Alpine or Pioneer head unit. Rosens and Advent (Audiovox) head units are often buggy and equipped with lower-grade audio-signal electronics.
