I am not confident that simply disconnecting the battery will reset the tune counter to zero. That's too easy. Ford engineers would NEVER think of that

A retired ford tech is the one that suggested I do it, again I know they checked and I had loaded about 72 different revisions. Again not saying to try it, but it worked for me

it may be legit, but I still think its prudent to wait beyond the lemon law coverage. Could be that if you have good relationship with your local dealer, they will swap parts, such as a turbo, clutch, etc. without asking too many questions. But if the whole engine fails, Ford will want to see the computer.

I've read tons on it. I don't believe the tune will cause issues. But if I do have an issue with a tune on my car, my dealership will not support me. I have already spoken with them and they said as soon as I put a tune on my car 95% of my warranty goes out the door. I know they need to be able to prove it was caused by the tune legally. But my dealership is really stubborn and I'd rather not have to go to corporate and or court over any issue that comes up.

Try different dealerships. Ask your local guys with fast Stangs (there must be some, if not get to know some. It's almost essential if your worried about dealership service/modding) and find out who they go to. No one likes to talk about it openly. If a service dept has one or two blown 5.0s in the employee lot it's probably friendlier than the stiff one you're going to.

2.) The whole flash counter thing is bullshit. The dealers know what software the car is CURRENTLY RUNNING, and how many key cycles the car has with the current software. Uninstall the tune and 'key-cycle' however many times you want, the more the better. 1 or 2 key cycles even with a stock ECU will raise flags.

3rd, if my engine blew, I would 100% remove every bolt on part that was on this car, before it even got 1,000 feet in front of ford.

I found the other pages and saw your mods, sounds like they screwed it up, but when my car went in for service with a bad turbo, I took every bolt on off the car.

That was my point to the other guy, to read page upon pages upon page and go with a trusted tuner. The mistake was you didn't do your research on those products. What did JMS say?
