The all-new 2015 Mustang will be the first vehicle to come with Ford’s new enhancements to its SYNC 911 Assist feature, the Dearborn company announced yesterday.
911 Assist is an emergency feature available to Ford vehicles equipped with SYNC technology that connects vehicle occupants (with a mobile phone connected to SYNC) directly to a local 911 operator in the event of airbag deployment or if the fuel supply shuts off. The latest enhancements to this subscription-free service will provide 911 dispatchers with additional critical information beyond the GPS coordinates, including a crash description and safety belt usage info to aid emergency responders in the dispatch of appropriate assistance.
