The Ford Mustang has taken the top honors in the 2018 JD Power Initial Quality Survey, receiving the award for the midsize sporty car segment.
Initial quality is measured by the number of problems experienced per 100 vehicles during the first 90 days of ownership, with a lower score reflecting higher quality.
In its segment, the Mustang ranked well above its direct competitors, the Dodge Challenger and Chevrolet Camaro, in overall quality.
Ford quality improved for the fifth straight year, with Ford and Lincoln vehicles earning five quality segment awards combined in this year’s JD Power Initial Quality Study — more than any other automaker.
