50th Anniversary 2018 Cobra Jet Mustang Announced

Ford Performance is developing an all-new 2018 Mustang Cobra Jet to mark the 50th anniversary of the purpose-built drag racer.

The 2018 Cobra Jet will be developed on the 2018 Mustang platform and limited to only 68 non-VIN production vehicles, each packing a supercharged 5.2-liter Coyote V8, unique four-link rear suspension, 9-inch solid rear axle from Strange Engineering and race add-ons including NHRA-certified roll cage, Racetech FIA seats and a drag race-specific coil-over suspension with specially designed Weld Racing wheels with 50th anniversary badging.

This drag racer will be the most powerful and quickest version from the factory ever, capable of mid-8-seconds in the quarter-mile while topping 150 mph. It’s designed to be legal for National Hot Rod Association drag racing, along with several National Mustang Racers Association and National Muscle Car Association classes.
