So after speaking to few people it looks I'll be doing a custom tune.... I ended up buying a VMP BAP and Ford 57lb injectors as cheap insurance. I spoke to Arun at CC Perf and am planning on making a trip down to his shop to chit chat and get a feel for what I'd be getting in to with a tune from him.Yea, I completely by-passed the Edelbrock tune and went straight to Lund. The Edelbrock tune itself is not as refined as the Whipple tune is. YMMV
Thanks for the info! Arun was straight up when I spoke to him a few months back, I'm going to get back in touch with him an set up a date to go see him at the shop. Always good to get a visual of what goes on during a dyno session vs just showing up. Keep you all posted.A bunch of us from the forum went to Rev 8 last summer when @kevinvan6000 had his car dynoed. Guys there seemed pretty good. I can't attest to any of their skills - although they did do Lou Barone's car - single turbo - and it runs really good!
I've known Lidio since early 90s and he was a good guy to deal with. Knows his stuff. Been doing this a long time...
Arun is a friend of mine. Recently back into the Ford game (started with Fords back in Fox body days) but is well known for Chevys and Corvettes. Straight shooter. He has a Mustang as well and has tuned them now. He tunes about anything these days. I would trust him. Again, been doing this a long time. His old vette was running 8's back 2011 and was a daily driver then.
I've used Lund a few times. First time I was NA and just did data logs and sent them back and forth. With the blower it was similar to this. Got the initial tune and did some data logs and sent back and forth. Then went on a dyno to fine tune. This was a few years ago though. I think the street data logs really helped with street manners that a dyno doesn't necessarily pick up. BUT, the most difficult part of doing the data logs is the insane speed of the WOT pulls that easily put you into dangerous driving, car impoundment and license revocation lol.
I would be more inclined to go to Arun than the other options. I'm not sure I would want to leave my car for 3 days in a foreign country to be tuned lol. Then border stuff etc... For Rev*, who is doing the tuning? I am assuming it would be Lund. But you're looking at over 2 grand for tuning only... Not sure what Arun charges, but likely a grand cheaper and would stand behind his work.
Honestly, all 3 will have your car moving! I'm sure Wengard would be another option but not sure what he does for data logs / dyno time.
Good luck! Install looks to be coming around. Where are you located?
Any chance you were in a Mustang convoy to Niagara last year? One of our Canadian friends @MCS was out that way but missed it.SW Ontario here. Been a member on this great forum for a couple years now and met a few Canadian members from it on some cruises.
