What size tubing fits on the radiator petcock?

From the "I always wondered about that" files - What size tubing fits on the radiator petcock so that you can drain the radiator neatly into a bucket without it splashing all over the place? Thanks.

Also, related: Where do you take your old anti-freeze? Two auto parts places near me take old oil but not anti-freeze.

The answer is: 1/2" The outer diameter of the drain tube is 7/16". 1/2" tubing fits on there snug enough that it should stay connected while draining; it won't be under any pressure.
