Close to yours. It was only 101º for me on my way home though.

Sounds like all of your thermostats and fans are working and your coolant is flowing as expected. No issue here move along...

Are we talking CHT? mine is always 200-215, with 208 being average. South Carolina no matter what outside temp is

If you're comparing it to temps from pushrod engines then you need to realize that DOHC engines typically run a bit warmer than pushrods. I tend to stay around like 205 but it can go up to 215. Maybe even hotter than that. If something was wrong tho, the car would let you know.

Never see over 180 with the Reische Thermostate from Lethal.

Tip....... these motors run best between 175-195* . Most tuners will pull timing once they hit 200*

We talking cylinder head temp or coolant temp? My head temp was running between 200-210 before it got hotter than balls in Phoenix. Yesterday I saw it was running 220-225.

Timing is what I am worried about... need to get a thermo swap.

You don't need a lower thermostat, lol! These engines were designed to run at certain temps. Your temps are fine unless it is overheating. Your CHT is normally around 210. Even if it goes a little higher than that you'll still be fine. That is the way it was designed. Installing a lower thermostat is fine if that's what you wanna do and if you're paranoid because you can now monitor it on the dash. But you don't need to. These car run optimally at the temps they were designed to run at.

You like your car pulling timing? I don't...
Well you have to do what you feel comfortable with. But it doesn't work that way. People think that if they see 210 degrees then 195 degrees is better. That is not how it works. Remember, you want cold air/warm engine. A lower thermostat is not going to do anything for you until you start getting into much heavier mods. And honestly, even then it won't. The engine was designed to run optimally at those temps. Just because you can lower it does not mean it is doing anything. But like I said, you have to do whatever you're comfortable with for your car.
