Chris, so this sits "BELOW" the bumper horizontally, to get the maximum air flow and not being blocked by bumper like your initial design?

Here you can see most of the core is blocked.

Love to see where and how the new one sits.
Great improvement.

Personally to have a kit that's been proven at 9.0's at 157, who cares what's blocked. That bish is FLYING with the so called blocked core. I bet unblocking it is nominal and would be more of a pain in the azz to unblock and gain probably nothing. I want my kit just the way SBD ran 9.0's with:headbang:

BTW, :coolphotos:

Until there are aftermarket bumpers designed specifically for forced induction, we (along with every single other manufacturer) have to deal with the confines of the factory bumper.

Our IAT temps and coolant temps are 100% solid, so while I understand your concerns, it hasn't translated to an actual issue in our physical datalogs from testing the car....both on the street & track.

Coming from the GTR community, the "race style" intercoolers are all partially blocked by the OEM bumper, but I haven't seen any issues in testing my own car, nor other customers.

Ultimately, having a larger surface area core provides faster heat dissipation. (Even when blocked partially by the design of the front bumper Ford handed us.)

Understand we have spent almost 8 months testing various designs.

If you'd appreciate a second opinion, contact Jon Lund. He has copies of all of our IAT & Coolant Temp logs.

We're an open book, so I don't mind questions. We're all learning.

At the same time, we've done the testing and ran the timeslip to prove our kits performance.

I think there has to be mutual trust that we have done our homework and are providing a proven product.

Can these come in "colors" - back for stealth in particular. The age old question, I suppose, if colored FMICs - black in particular - hurt FMIC performance?

Well hung - nekkid.

We looked into anodizing, but our local anodizing company can't handle an item this large.

For now, you'll need to have this done on a local level until we can find a supplier.

I wasn't criticizing your kit (far from it) or questioning you. I was just sharing my thoughts and results of some of the R&D I had done to build a custom TT on my previous SRT-8.

The opening to allow air to the intercooler does not need to be the same size as the intercooler.

The opening only needs to be large enough to flow the same amount of air that will flow through the radiator and intercooler.

I can't think of any modern cars where opening in grill = same size as radiator.

Only thing we need to do is check air can reach the whole intercooler core, which I'm sure it can.
