Is it any good? My experience with Dyson products is that they're over hyped. Yes they work but generally no better than (usually far) cheaper alternatives.

This deal is 50% off RRP, so effectively negates the Dyson tax.

My main vacuum cleaner is also a Dyson and it sucks harder and longer than a prostitute on heat.

I'm willing to take my chances - you won't find these in Aldi.

Dyson is overhyped; good marketing. The V8 is the only one we have had that is close to an AC electric vacuum.

HaHa, I've owned two Dyson vacuums and both have been expensive failures. I bought an $80 Aldi model several years ago for a holiday let and was so impressed that I later got another one ($100) to replace the $800 crapola Dyson. Chalk and cheese.

I was very tempted. Spent at least 30min last night looking at reviews. I really like the fact it's cordless and the attachments. I really don't like the 20min run time as I generally do more than 1 car at a time so that could be cutting it close.

In the end I think I'll stick with my Miele and just look at getting some smaller attachments.

Well, it just arrived.

I'm planning to give the car a good clean tomorrow, so will charge it overnight.

Fully expecting that there will be a disaster half way through (due to the notorious unreliability of overpriced Dyson products), I'll be sure to leave enough time to do a mad dash down to Aldi in order to pick up a German-engineered replacement to complete the job.

on another note i ordered one of these, and got the extended shaft and hardfloor head from amazon for $76.
