While installing steeda springs yesterday I checked the drive shaft. I can turn the driveshaft either direction at least 1/8 turn in either direction with little movement of the wheels. Seems that most of the slop is in the rear diff. Taking it to the Dealership on Wednesday to have it checked. Car has 2500 miles on it. Car sounds like crap with the slop at low speeds.

that usually tends to be the norm on the manuals.

Driving a manual of various kinds for 35 years now. The slop in this car is not normal.
My experience with American v8 RWD manuals tend to have that slop, my challenger rt had the same thing.

That is normal - well, to be expected and common is better said. It's backlash that's worth worrying about.

Just had my backlash re adjusted. The spec range is .008"-.012" and they set mine to .008 and it is night and day better.

Did you get this done at dealer? Cost? They won't do it for me under warranty.

You got the dealer to remove your differential and rebuild it?? Warranty?

No I had 3.73 gears changed to 3.31 back in February 2015 and I ended up sending my 1/2 shafts back for warranty work so I dropped the diff while I had it all apart and took it back to have them re check it and it was out so they tuned it in for me for zippo.

Thanks for the details.

Can you describe what needed to be done with your halfshafts? I have some early FRPP halfshafts in my car. I wouldnt mind being aware of anything that needs consideration with them.

Would what I'm describing below be the backlash you are talking about?

When traveling slowly (~5mph) and I depress the clutch, I can hear shit banging around underneath. It sounds like backlash, because I can use the gas to sort of "relieve" the drivetrain of the torque right before I engage the clutch and I don't hear anything. Also, I can hear the same thing the exact moment the back tires get over a speed bump while going real slow. Exact same noise. Doesn't happen when the front tires go over, only the back.

It will sound more obvious when you get on and off the throttle, too.

Maybe I can't hear it that well with the headers during shifting or while driving. But when I'm in the parking garage it's LOUD. Definitely something banging around.
