Word to the wise: the rubber valves on my 2016 GT have started failing, one by one. First one failed 4 weeks ago - I thought it was a one off. But then another failed on Monday, leaving me having to drive on a flat Michelin PS4 and wrecking it. Replace them all with steel ones, if you can. It would be good to know of other parts with built-in redundancy so you can catch them before they go (expensively).

They should always be replaced when new tyres are fitted. What sometimes happens is the tyre fitter doesn't have the right stems in stock so they don't bother. Metal ones are often worse as the 'o' rings fail.

When I changed my wheels in 2019 I bought new rubber valves on ebay for £20 i think and then gave these with the new wheels and tyres to my fitter who took of the TPMS from my old wheels and installed them into the new wheels and valves. Now 3 years later and the valves are all perfectly fine.
