I am planning on adding Lane Keeping Assist and Adaptive CC from 2018+ to my 2015 car.

Parts to order:

Lane assist:
  • IPMA (Image Processing Module A)
  • Windshield with IPMA bracket (I plan to try to avoid this step)
  • IPMA pig-tail or IPMA harness
  • Left turning stalk with LKA button
  • SCCM Housing (not required for 2018+ owners) (TBD for 2015+)
TBD for 2015+ cars:
  • BCM (Body Control Module)
  • GWM A (Gateway Module)
  • PSCM (Power Steering Control Module)
Adaptive CC:
  • CCM (ACC module) + CCM bracket + CCM-pig-tail + nuts&bolts
  • Adaptive Cruise Control switch
  • HUD (TBD) In 2015-2020 vehicles, the HUD was used to indicate a collision warning. HUD is no longer used in 2020+ cars: only chime and indication on the dashboard

So.

I already have:
  • 2018+ SCCM Housing (I'm not sure if this part is really needed, but it was part of the the digital dashboard mode)
  • HUD: FR3Z-19G468-A
  • s-l1600_2.jpeg
I also ordered:
  • Adaptive Cruise Control switch: JR3Z-9C888-FA (2015+ with Digital Dashboard retrofit)
    ACC_switch.jpeg
  • Left turning stalk with LKA button: EG9T-13335-FBW
    s-l1600_2.jpeg
  • IPMA from 2020 Escape: LJ6T-19H406-CD (since it was sold immediately with a cut off IPMA pig-tail). Perhaps it will work right away, or I'll try to flash it with firmware from a Mustang IPMA.

Stay tuned!

Any updates my man?
I'm interested as well this is a major high risk project.
Any investigation and experiments were stopped due to russia attack on my country - Ukraine. 🇺🇦
Hard to do anything during a missile attack.

All information above is valid.
This retrofit is 100% possible on a 18+ - you need a radar (CCM), IPMA
On 15+ - I know one successful case, but there are too many additionally replaced modules - the steering rack, BCM, GWM - perhaps some of them still do not need to be changed.

These are my two most hated features on cars these days.

I have owned three cars with adaptive cruise control, and I found it very obtrusive on all of them. You set the cruise control slightly higher than the car in front of you and set the desired distance, then some ass hat pulls between you and the car in front of you, and the car slams on the brakes.

Furthermore, I live in a rural area where the roads are narroww. My steering wheel was constantly vibrating or car was constantly beeping at me, so I always turn it off.

If given a choice, I would never choose to use these features, let alone install them after the fact.

On a more serious not, stay safe and I hopee that Putin comes to his senses before too many people die.

Don't, inadvertently turned on lane assist yesterday and it's awful. I had my tires off last weekend, and thought the vibration may have been loose lug related. I then saw the green lane markers on my dash and realized what it was, I had no idea the vehicle had that feature.

Told my wife, a materials manager at Ford, she laughed at me, said yeah, that feature has been around for a while.
