Thanks for the bug and tar remover idea. I used my turtle wax bug and tar and it worked wonders. No more sticky gross button

my trunk release button above the license plate feels sticky. any tips on how to remove the stickiness? ive tried water and windex, helped a little bit but it's still a bit sticky.

Mine feels more grimy and muddy after driving in the rain. The top of the license plate is one of the dirtiest places on any car, LOL.

i found out why it was sticky after looking at pre delivery pictures on some cars here. there's a white strip thats there and on the front bumper. im guessing when they peeled it off, some of the adhesive stayed on the rubber button

Because on convertibles if your battery goes dead there is no way to climb in the back through the seats to unlock the trunk so they include a manual way to open it by key.
