I was turning onto a street and from out of nowhere, my tranny didn't catch second and my rpm's shot up to about 5k and hung there until I switched out of Sport mode. After that ran fine in normal mode for an hour and a half.

Haven't tried sport mode again since. Any ideas?

Yep, mine used to do that every once in a while. Noticed it mainly on turns...

Normal.

Sport mode holds the current gear and doesn't upshift straight away like normal mode unless you are driving sporty, hence the term sport mode. Try using the paddle shifters in sport mode if you are going to drive around town like an old lady in sport mode.

When you say it didn't catch, do you mean it stayed in 1st or acted like it was slipping (neutral)?

So.. I guess you have an automatic? and by didn't "catch" 2nd you mean didn't shift? and by slipping you meant.. uh, I have no idea what you meant..

Needless to say, S holds the revs so it stays in a lower gear. If you touch the paddle, then it won't shift for you.. if you just put it into S without touching the paddles it will rev out to redline and shift hard. I drive in S 80% of the time because I'm a maniac.. I also prefer the throttle response. I hate how easy it is to drive this thing Lol.. I've driven less powerful V6's that have a more sensitive throttle response which I actually like.

I was in D, with Sport mode selected. Stayed in first and showed no signs of changing to second.

I see you posting here all the time. You really hate your car, surprised you still have it.

if you accidentally touched the paddle while in sport mode, it will stay in that gear.

or if you did touch the paddle in sport mode, it will stay in that gear.

lets say you are driving in S with paddles. slap down to 3rd and then stop at the light. the car will downshift to 1st for you, but when you leave the light it will stay in 1st until you upshift. only way to put S back into auto shifting is move it to D, then back to S.

sometimes i hit the paddles by accident when pulling out of parking lots/driveways.
