Timing Chain as Viewed from Oil Fill Port. Is this Normal?

Hey Guys/Gals,

When you have the opportunity, can you guys remove the oil fill cap and take a look inside and tell me if you're seeing the same thing? You'll most likely need a flash light to really see what I'm talking about.

I noticed some "dents" on the chain that connects the exhaust cam to crank.
I took some pictures...

The chain links definitely look pitted to me. The dents on the ends have me concerned, but you'll notice on the close up pics the whole link is rough. Under normal magnification you can only see the dents on the link ends. This is what caught my eye, but also has me a bit concerned.

Let me know if others have these same small dents on their chain links?

The engine has 3700 miles on it. Oil changed at 1500 miles. 100% synthetic 5w-20. No engine mods. Engine is running strong.

My money is on an intentional design to retain oil for lubrication.

Similar thread not too long ago. I recall many people seeing the same thing with varying mods and mileage. Some with many miles with no issue but the same appearance. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it at this point. I don't believe there was a single pic of one shared without this.
