Can someone recommend a jack stand manufacturer and model that they like/prefer?

Just got mine at Northern Tool. Except for the high dollar ones they're all really the same. Best bet is to find an old guy's garage sale. They have the old school ones made with real metal.

Question - why is this necessary? Are the pinch welds super weak? This is the first Mustang I've had. I've tracked a few of my cars and I always use dedicated track tires, pads, etc. I've placed the floor jack under the pinch weld 100's of times and I never had an issue on other cars. I've gone through multiple floor jacks (don't buy a craftsman aluminum racing jack) and I use a rubber puck on my floor jack pad. The pinch welds always outlast my floor jacks. I place jack stands under the sub frame connectors once jacked up and never had any issue with the pinch welds on other cars. Did Ford do something wrong with these pinch welds to make these jack rails necessary?
I think it has more to do with what kind of jack pad is used (or not) and whether you ignore the recommended Ford hard points for jacking the car up.
Adding the rail can allow for less precision and more flexibility placing placing the jack or the stands. The hard points Ford designed are not weak if used as intended and specified. If one choses to ignore, they deserve the credit if something gets mangled.

I didn't even jack the car up. Used a piece of cardboard and installed BMR red rails. It would be easier with a lift or something. Just take your time

I like to disassemble things.
1:12 mark "First, support the car at the k-member..."

Never support the car at or by the k-member. It was not designed to support the weight of the vehicle and you can crush the sheetmetal it attaches to (where the tails attach).
