I have had CF parts on some very very expensive model airplanes get damaged in crashes. I would take high quality Epoxy (west systems) mixed with milled CF powder and work in into the damaged areas. Once dry sand it down with some finishing sand paper. Depending on the color of your wheels you may need to spray a small amount of clear coat to get the gloss back.

This will work. It just takes patience. Also wear eye protection, gloves, a mask and long sleeves any time u are working with CF powder or sanding CF. Its nasty stuff.

Hey Fellas -

Scrapped up the front wheel of my R today. Sliding along a curb. Freak snow storm. Started ripping home from work but a little to late.

These wheels fixable? Haha. :headbang:
Totally fixable in my opinion. Take it to a composite specialist in your area. I think he can put down some black gel-coat and wet sand it and polish it and you won't be able to tell anything happened. Worth a shot anyway.

I might just give this a shot! Thanks brother.

Thanks for the input fellas. Pretty funny shit here.

I have ordered a set of the MMR600s awhile back but they won't be here until the end of March or so - couldn't not drive the car in the mean time :)

I'll look to get it fixed in the near future. I'll let everyone know the route I go and if in fact it turns out just in case some of you are also dumbass like me!

I'd almost guarantee that is fixable... CF has a relatively thick epoxy/gel coat prior to making it to the fiber. Even if it touches fiber as long as it's not cracked you should be ok. That looks very superficial... Also consider selling it on E-bay b/c i'm sure some track fanatic has surely destroyed one by now and ya may be able to recoup most of yer losses.

I have taken my R wheel to a local high-end bicycle repair shop that does very high-end CF work. Looks totally repairable. As EF300 pointed out, there some special filler and resin for CF. GL! Report back!

No I have wanted to get into that but now isn't the right time. Built a Carden Extra 300, have repaired various CF parts including landing gear ext. Also have fixed some CF stuff on RC helicopters.

Huh. That is an unbelievable idea. I'll be looking to take them in when my new wheels arrive.

Thank you for chiming in bro.

Man you have balls of steel driving in snow with Cup 2's... I just backed up my car (on standard PSS) out of the garage to realign and make space for my winter beater considering the storm coming... result is winter beater is in garage and Shelby is in the snow! I was not able to drive back in garage in 2 cm of snow, slight incline. I almost hit the side of my wife's minivan while trying!

Hahaha. This made me laugh out loud man. Sorry to hear that, but, that is pretty funny.

This car certainly isn't made for any amount of snow/ice at all. Now two of us have learned the hard way!
