That sucks, I was rear-ended back in March, but mine was a lot worse since I had a lot of pain and it totaled my 2013. Glad you are okay. I am still dealing with my bodily injury claim, the whole process sucks, from being in pain to months later trying to get everything wrapped up. Good luck

dude. sorry to hear man. it always sucks to see this. its happened to me 4 times in my car since February. two while stopped at stoplights. once while stopped in traffic. and once while the car was parked and i was getting a haircut.
insurance will take care of you and youll be back on the road in no time.
hope the neck pain goes away fast.
edit. the adjustor will work with you. my advice is go to multiple places and try and get high estimates. they will then send you a check and hopefully you will have scratch left over. i filed a claim with the guilty parties insurance all 4 times and got a total of 4200 dollars back. after that was done i filed with my insurance and they covered the lost value of the car if i were to sell it. i forget what its called but it was another 1200 dollars. i think its a diminished value claim.
This is absolutely ridiculous...4 times?! All here in San Diego? Guess I shouldn't be too surprised...lots of questionable drivers on the roads.

Do you have Geico? I just joined and if this happens to me, I should also like a happy ending(s).

OP, hope all is feeling better soon, in all aspects.

The control board or even the LEDs themselves could have been damaged. Hope your neck is okay and it is nothing permanent the car can be fixed. Good luck !

Insure that you advise your insurance adjuster (even though she was at fault) and the police that took the report that you are experiencing neck pains (no matter how minor or trivial they seem) and you arrange to be seen by a competent spinal specialist...no kidding! I know it sounds trivial but trust me, when you hit mid life that minor sting now could blossom into something more pronounced (take it from a rear end victim when I was 19 and thought "it's only a minor ache"...now have significant neck issues associated way back to that injury):gossip:
^This, I was hit hard in my Torino Cobra back in 82' at a stop light by a uninsured drunk driver (in a bug) and the only damage (minor) was to the rear valance and gas tank. Anyways I felt fine up until a week later (exactly 7 days) and I woke that morning and couldn't move my head as my neck was all f***ed up.
Just be careful and get checked out and don't sign-off on anything for at least 6 months or more...you never know.

Good info here. I got in an accident at about 19 also and had minor pain at the time. I did physical therapy and all that, but 11 years later there is still pain especially when leaning over for a long period of time... leaning over into the engine bay is brutal on me.

Take care of yourself!

what a coincidence, my 2012 GTI got totaled by a 17 year old girl driving an Odyssey nearly a year go, this also happened in NoVa, she also claimed she was at fault to cops when they arrived. I wonder if it's the same girl.

Also sucks to be in situation like this on a basically new car. I hope it'll come back like it never happened.
My advice on body shop, Avoid Bill Page in Merrifield.

Very good to know. I'm actually having a bit more trouble with the right side of my neck. A bit hard to sleep at night if I don't sleep in the right position fml...

Yeah I mean they just do not work anymore lol.

No idea brotha. Any good ideas here in VA?

Interesting you say that, when we exchanged in insurance info using the officer's documents, it says she's 18 LOL :ninja:

I've heard good things with body shops associated with Tedd Britt. I'm definitely doing some research.

Thanks all!

Hmmm, just remembered. Adjuster will be at my house tomorrow morning. I know the bumper will have to be replaced because there are plastic pieces that are broken off, but have any of y'all that have been in this situation encountered the "we're going to fix it not replace it" ordeal? Guess this is my biggest fear hehe

I have a thread on here detailing an incident of someone backing into my ruby red stang. I found a local body shop that's certified by Bently, Jaguar, etc. And their reviews on Yelp average four and half stars. My appointment to take her in is 8/26. I feel pretty good that this shop will do a great job, especially matching the paint.

Just my two cents about how a chose a body shop.

Sorry about your car and I hope your neck gets better quick. I think I would be pretty pissed if someone hit me because they were texting. I drive for a living and I see that crap all the time, I would bet 80% of the people I see on the road around here are screwing with their dang cell phones, even the cops. When I get in my car my phone never leaves my pocket (even before I had sync). Any call or message or whatever can wait till I stop somewhere (not a traffic light) to answer it. :tsk:

Someone hits my car while texting, and I will be hard pressed to not commence to immediate violence.
I was thinking more along the lines that it's hard to text when the phone is shoved a foot up their ass!

LOL ... yep!

I remember the good old days when there were no cell phones. The only thing that distracted you while driving was spilling your beer. :D
