NGauge question

I was told that I should leave it plugged in the port all the time. Is there a reason for this? I have already loaded the tune I want (I only have one tune) and I am not using to read anything. Does it really have to be plugged in and powered on all the time while the car is running? I rather not have it in the car at all.

you don't have to leave it plugged in but you should log initially just to make sure that it's running right..

Once the gauge has fully flashed the tune to the vehicle, you can unplug and do as you wish with the gauge. Cannot hurt to check the logs first like Jaehead said!
