I am excited . They have been busy there and have not quite been able to finish my new engine, I guess it was meant to be, now the new engine will get this new gasket.

Forgive me if this comes across dumb, but why is a head gasket upgrade important?

When building an engine for added HP the upgraded head gasket is needed so you don't blow the head gasket. If you are not removing the head to build the engine I don't think you need to update the head gasket.

On the builds with high timing and high boost the bottom ends haven't been an issue, now the problem is keeping the head gasket in it. Those of us really trying to make big power are getting head lift and the stock gasket is acting as a fuse. The OEM is an MLS gasket but the center layer is very thin, ive got the head off one of my engines right now to do port work, better head studs and the thin center layer in the OEM gasket has been compromised. This new gasket will be stronger by not having such a thin center layer, its not gonna fix everything, but is certainly gonna help, 12mm head studs along with this gasket are a step in the right direction. Its one of those things that you would be silly not to buy if you are doing any kind of build or have the head off your engine. So those with OEM engines and only running low boost and timing need not worry, you don't need to change your head gasket.

Thanks for clarifying. What is high boost in relation to your setup btw?
