Not all dealers operate this way. I just picked up my 22 450 Platinum on Wed., ordered in July Of 21. Was an msrp order, it stayed that way at delivery, and I got $3k rebate from Ford.
You are correct, meant to say:dealers are selling at or above msrp...either way my point remains, as dealers are making up for the shortage by selling at msrp or above vs traditional discounts...

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for capitalism.
Is not Ford the ones that can price vehicles and not the dealerships that sell said products?

Again, I'm all for capitalism and I believe in the free market. I'm just curious as to how it works.

The more things change, the more stays the same here. Left here when I sold my '18, came back a year later now and I see this forum is still full of mouthy idiots who hate anyone else's car or opinions except their own. Sad stuff.
Welcome back, lol

A word used was obtainable. Something that if one worked hard enough, one could obtain in time. As prices go up and up, while middle class pay remains stagnant compared to inflation, things become less obtainable and less interesting to the younger generations. In 03’ the top of the line Mustang was approximately $35,000, I purchased my Cobra new. The argument that a Shelby is something different is understood and not denied, but it is also still a Mustang, built on the same platform as the 2.3L 4-cylinder. It is not a Ferrari, Lamborghini, mid engine Corvette. All cars built off better starting chassis.

To imply I’m just a troll, a poor GT owner, a wanna be GT500 owner, is not true. I’ve owned a 88’ Saleen, 97’ Cobra, 00’ Lightning, 03’ Cobra, 12’ GT, 13’ GT500, and 2020 GT500.

An asking price of $124,495 on an $80,xxx GT500 is making that gap between the GT and the GT500 bigger and bigger, less likely to obtain and no longer a goal.

Yes, seeing a CFTP car is exciting, but instead the emotions and thinking some day I’ll have that or want that, it becomes more like seeing a Ferrari, nice car, but I’ll never be able to afford one and not a goal.
No one is saying that this particular dealer's ADM on a $80k car isn't ridiculous. Obviously they aren't real motivated to move It and it's their prerogative to collect it if they want. This is an outlier case imo. If you can lay $80k on a car then it's a good bet you can afford 5-$7k more in an ADM. Save for another month or two or whatever it takes. Realistically if you can't then your spending above your means in the first place.

In the bigger picture, as far as I'm concerned anyway, a lot of this country's issues would be fine if everyone voted with their wallets in mind first and foremost and not their feelings.

I was just going to delete that last post.
I was just informed Motorcraft oil for the GT500 now has an ADM!

j/k, just trying to lighten things up :sun:
Maybe I should use Amsoil instead.

You live in the normal part of the state. Lol.

I can definitely say south Florida is raging out of control with housing (ownership and rental). No wage rent increase cap so greed is driving everything to rise uncontrollably. Houses are going for $150-$200k more than they were in 2018/2019, rent has risen $4-$500 plus per mo for the same “updated” places in still shitty areas over the same period.

Yet in the land of excess there’s no shortage of people willing to pay, so the cycle continues.
Housing market is crazy. Glad we bought 5 years ago!

Since this is the GT500 area, figured I would ask. I've had my GT350 for 4.5 years now and starting to think about something new. How do you guys that went from the GT350 to the GT500 like it? Miss the 6MT?

This one is/ was sitting at Schultz Ford in Nanuet, NY last week. Their website says MSRP but the little white sticker on the windshield says +$30k ADM. I asked and sales rep said the dealership owner's friend is buying it (for less then 30k over).

I thought $30k was a bit much in late January deep freeze. But it's better than $50k

Edit: it's actually still on the website. Maybe his buddy bailed.
