necro posting

I've never really frequented a forum before and I was curious, generally at what point would responding to an older post be considered necro and bad form? I get this feeling if the last reply was a month old, then that probably is a good way to go. Though a month doesn't seem too long either. Thanks.

Generally, if you have good information, or something of value to add, then it's ok. But quoting a thread a month old to say "me too" is a waste of time. I don't think it's a rule, per say, here, but that's the rule on another very large site I am active at (not car related) and it seems to work very well.
