Josh. What is the coating on the black tips???? Really freakong nice. Juat cant figure it out if it is anodized or high quality paint
He already stated pvd coating, which is what my company was getting done for our wheels a while back. Very nice and looks great, I'm not sure what the ford racing has done but it looks similar. Definitely looks like a quality system especially for the price.

K,

Not sure of the weight of their application, but I can share ours vs stock:

Stock GT Cat-back: 71.5 pounds

Touring Edition Cat-back: 54 pounds (without clamps and tips)

Hope that helps! :)
Just curious, the description on American Muscle says "Fastback", will there be a version that supports convertible as well? The Axleback says it will fit both.

Still TBD for convertible-friendly CBEs because of the chassis braces.

Why is the AWE Race catback $750, and the touring almost $1400?

Because the race has no mufflers...
Mufflers cost $700? That seems excessive. I'm asking out of pure ignorance, I am looking for my first catback

Well-engineered ones, yes. This is also why the Corsa and Borla catbacks are $1200-1500.

Welcome to 2017, everything has went up unf. The days of paying $700 for a catback are gone. This is the reason I have high expectations on the AWE I purchased. Fit and sound better be on par :D

Since the axle-backs are $795 I would say... yes :)

Ok guys, after 2 hours I finished installing the exhaust on my back, by myself. The exhaust fits fantastic I may say, the bends were balls on! I used 3/4in blocks for guides between the exhaust and the swaybar and also by the lower ear of the rear housing. I drove the car through a crappy area of roads and no banging at all. Not surprised becasue there was plenty of clearance everywhere. Also, you see nothing under the car, it is completely tucked in. Before I go onto to sound let me give some tips for installation.

1-) The H-pipe must be leveled !!!! Used your jack to level it, very important!!

2-) torque down all bolts (except for tips) to 40 ft lbs

3-) The exhaust clamps on the rear IRS actually move clockwise and counter! So do NOT tighten them until exhaust is fitted and tightened or they will move the pipes around by about 3/8in either direction

4-) Obv do not tighten anything before everything is perfectly aligned.

Exhaust note:

I am not in anyway kissing ass or getting endorsed for this. I have to say I am very happy I waited and took a chance on AWE touring. In my opinion it sounds incredible, music to my ears. NO rasp, NO drone , just a lovely V8 note! It is loud enough for me, not obnoxious and not dead like the fac piece. I am very happy with the DB level! I am not putting down any other exhaust companies out there. I was looking at Corsa and solo before AWE came along. I wish you all the best on your decision. I tell you one thing, I will not be one of those guys that go through several different catbacks due to noise or drone. I chose the right one for me :)

Cons:

AWE,
1-)throw in a set of printed instructions.
I cant think of anything else to bitch about.
