On first glance, yes.
But for a modern recreation you need that snake and and the dashboard trims should be wood instead of aluminum.
The upbadging is movie correct, the Bullitt logos are just a Ford creation.

At least here in the US, I don’t think most people would view it that way. It would be seen as up badging. But, it’s your car, if that’s what you want to do go for it.

I hate to admit it, but the new Dark Horse NASCAR bodies look awesome.

LOL. The hate was real. I wasn’t even a Mustang owner at that time and heard all the hate from the S197 folks directed at S550. Time tends to change people’s opinions…

Coming from a 2013 S197 I didn't like the S550 either. Now I got one. So I'm not gonna rag on the S650 too much. I hate eating crow.

In my view, this is still a valid point of criticism, that they have made the Focus, Mondeo and C-Max too similar.
The only unique selling point here are the position lights, otherwise you can get confused at twilight.
However, it is natural for a manufacturer to want to transfer some of the glamor of the top model to the bread-and-butter vehicles.
Perhaps one of the reasons why the facelift has led to this somewhat radical change.

What I like is the beautifully drawn silhouette of the S550, whereas the S197 was a little clumsy but good in regard of retro design.
Unfortunately, this has been ruined again with the S650, it's just become too pretentious for me, especially the shoulder of the S550 is something that pushes all my buttons.
But that could also be what attracts the lost souls from the Camaro world to the S650.

It was the S550 that made the Mustang a serious alternative to sports cars from our manufacturers over here. It sells comparatively well, battling with the 911 every year for the crown in terms of sports car registrations.
If dentists and architects were to get a taste for the V8, the 911 would probably no longer stand a chance. 😅

one normally dosn't find the word 'movie' in close proximity to 'real'. Just sayin' :)
Tell this to the Eleanor fans and Denice Halicki! 😜 😂

To be honest, Bullitt is no cinematographic masterpiece, but the rocked-down, matt-polished GT fastback with a GT390 steering wheel and King of Cool behind the steering wheel has more charisma for me than the glossy Mustang with Nicholas Cage in it.
Unfortunately, Ford lacked the courage to make it matt. 😬

I was a fan of the Fox bodies and SN95(teen age years). Then the new edge(yuck) came out and I lost interest in mustangs. The S197 was even worse in my opinion! I didn't care for the looks of mustangs again until the S550 refresh in '18.

It's so funny how different taste is. I liked Foxes even though they don't have the greatest styling with so many straight lines. Then all the Mustangs from 1994 until 2009 were not that good looking to me. I really liked 2010 and 2011. To me, those are some of the best looking Mustangs (front view).

I still think the S550 is kind of ugly in the front view. Mach and GT350 are the best looking, but still not wonderful. All S550 look great from the rear, though. Awesome.

But the reason I own an S550 is the combination of IRS and Coyote. I wish the car was smaller so that it would perform better, but the cabin is a good size for me.

Fair enough my friend, we all have our own opinions.

IMO the S550 front is unique to the Mustang. I disagree it looks like a Fusion lol , it may has some resemblance but the front of the Mustang could never be confused for the Fusion.

The S650 looks nothing like that Ugly Camaro but each to his own. If anything I feel like the Camaro copied the Mustang in design, the lines of the S650 align with the historic shape of the Mustang. The rear hump that "looks like a Camaro" as everyone says was actually present in the S550 it is just more pronounced. I mean this picture below speaks for itself.

I mean beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I just feel like people saying it looks like A or B car should say. Its ugly I DONT LIKE IT. LOL
