Modifying stock Auto shifter height

Just wanted to show off a little project I completed today. I really like the look of the OEM auto shifter...except for the height, so I decided to chop it 2" and it came out well:

A little before and after...Sorry the first picture is a bit blurry. I also forgot to measure the height in the after pic.

I like the idea, could you show a few more pics from different angles? The boot seems to be flattened out and doesn't look as clean as the original. And how did you go about chopping 2 inches off?

Yeah definitely can get some more pics up, I was just excited to get the project completed. My idea is to get a manual boot and fit it onto that so the boot is loosely fitted for now.

as for chopping the shifter, I measured 2” from the bottom mounting hole and then measured 2” on the shifter actuator rod and metal shifter rod housing. Used a dremel to cut to size and test fit everything before putting it back in the car. I meant to take photos for DIY....but got caught up in the project itself haha:crazy:
