Some friends and family were over tonight and it got to be dinner time . Everyone decided on outback and I said I would pick it up. (Really just wanted out of the house for a moment)
So I pull up to where you pick up curb side take away. Waitress comes out to confirm order and there is a boy behind her about 5 or 6 years old . He's seems anxious,she turns to leave and he steps up to the passenger door.
With a little studder he says "I'm a mustang fantastic "(meaning fanatic ) so I say" yeah ,there's nothing wrong with that" waitress is standing behind him with the food waiting for him to move. His mother comes up and apologizes and gave him the you don't run up to strangers and do that (which I understand)
So I pay the waitress and I see the boy at the end of the sidewalk and he looks like he's upset . So I pull down and say "hey what's your name ?" Daniel (he replies) well Daniel I'm paul ,so do you have a phone that'll take a picture ? He smiles and says do ya mom ? She replies yes why ? I opened thee drive door and said ok Daniel hop in .
He couldn't run around the car fast enough. So he's in the driver seat just staring at the wheel . He looked frozen ,I was looking at his mom and said is he ok?
She said Daniel come on give me a thumbs up or something. So he does and starts to get out and I said are you ok?
He's breathing a little heavy and says that car is awesome. I couldn't help but laugh ,bent down to his level and said no camaro guy would do that for ya would he ?
He says I don't know I don't like camaros.
I almost pissed myself laughing. I wish I had something to give him ,like those challenge coins in the other thread.
everyone at the house gave me crap for taking so long ,but it was worth it .
I told my girlfriend and daughter about it after everyone left. My girlfriend says "you and little kids" ( because I always laugh at them ) and my daughter (7) says awe dad you made his day.
So I think I've secured us another future stang owner for sure.
