Kong Performance GT500 Carbon Fiber CAI

If anyone else has been waiting, Kong Performance’s full carbon fiber intake is now out. I was lucky enough to get one (from hounding them via email for months lol).

I can say that this thing is absolutely beautiful. The carbon work is flawless. The lid fitment is perfect. The parts supplied are top notch. It’s not cheap, but it is truly a great product.

My only “complaint” is that I can’t take off the Kong logo because it is under the clear coat.

Lethal Performance now owns the 1320 Junkie CAI and I think its $299. 1320 Junkie had it listed with many options and it could get as high as almost $600

The JLT is $399

As far as I know, the kong is the only carbon fiber option out there, and the only closed lid option.

I will probably have this done over the winter. The logo does appear to be floating in the clear, so it more than likely is on top of the resin, then under a clear.

Well. I dropped off the cover today to my favorite body shop to see what they can do with the logo. I will keep you all posted.

Thanks man, will just have to make due with the blower going on the GT this week for the time being. Still look forward to seeing your ride in person. Ok, done de-railing your post. That is a sweet looking intake, and I will agree that removing the logo will make it that much better.

Any proven Dyno gains ? The lethal intake gave something like 47 RWHP and 8 ft-lbs torque which is a bunch.

Nice piece and neat logo. That said, I wouldn't buy simply because of the logo. I like my gear unmarked. Has anyone asked them if they will sell it without the logo? I'd expect pushback but if they realized that people aren't buying the kit due to the sticker, maybe they'd consider placing it in a less conspicuous place. A gorilla in the corner of the bay and a snake in the center....kind of an odd combination.
