Through days of rain, what seemed like even MORE days of waiting for classes to be called, VMP had an awesome outing on two of our cars at this year's NMRA World Finals at Bowling Green.

First, our 2015 delivered a pair of 10.40's in full street trim with our VMP GENII TVS supercharger. Rebecca Starkey piloted our Race Red 2015 and although the most she's driven the car was race day from the hotel to the track, she lined it up and cut 1.50's on the stock auto. We knew it felt great and knew the dyno numbers were the same as your 2011-15 Coyote would be with our Stage 2 or 3 kit, but even we were surprised when we saw the board light up with a 10.49 right off the trailer!

The car will be on the road again this weekend with Team VMP at FL2K in Bradenton and again in another week at Steeda's Pony Wars in GA.

It was a weekend of firsts as we also debuted our 2015 VMP EgoBoost Mustang. Working in conjunction with the team at FFTEC, we installed a Borg Warner ERF 7670 turbo kit and went to work. We suffered through launch issues as it simply wasn't ready to 60' the way we needed, but we saw multiple 116 mph traps to tell us that the power is there for a low 11 when we get the short times working. For reference, that's a full weight car and exactly the same as Brad Gussler's SCT EcoBoost drag car with a lot less weight.

In other Team news, Kelly Aiken fell victim to the VMP GEN II TVS Torque Monster as his 2015 GT auto spit the diff on his first pass (Kelly, being the stud that he is, hung through the racket and ripped off a 9.60 with the ears of the pumpkin torn off!!!!). Thanks to some quick bargaining and late night, flashlight rebuilding, Kelly had a new, iron diff installed in the pits...in the dark...on the ground...in a couple of hours. Thanks to everyone that helped, particularly Jake the folks at Power by the Hour.

We were just about to take the EgoBeast out for a pass when we received a call from Kelly at the starting line. "Hey...I think I broke something...."

A quick trip to the starting line in the Kubota proved that the trailer was needed. His "new" diff had held. The trans was good. But that big stick between the diff and trans....not so much. Twisted the driveshaft in half!
Got torque?

The next day, another DS was installed and Kelly was back on the track.

It's only rock and roll...but we like it.

That's it from a wet and wild weekend at Bailing Green (pun intended)

This weekend: FL2K/Bradenton. Come see us!
