I used Nationwide my whole life to ensure my cars. Today I get off the phone with them and they tell me they cannot write a policy for me on a GT350 if order one because they consider it a performance/racing car. They said my only recourse to stay with them is they partner up and write me a separate policy with Haegerty Insurance and consider it a collector car and it will be $1529 a year with $500 deductible with the car valued at 60K. Anybody else have these issues that are ordering a GT-350?

Wow. Haven't thought about insurance yet. Geico insured my exotic and my current track-only street-legal '11 GT but have read on other forums that others with similar exotic vehicles being rejected by Geico. I recall a few recommended State Farm. Good luck!

I shall check with State Farm. Thank you! But yeah that was a shocker to me as I thought I better check on this before going into ordering a GT350 tomorrow at the dealer. After all these headaches, ADM talk, etc. I might just hold out for a '17 GT and spec it out the way I want. Our white '15 GT is amazing, and I want my own :-)

I think you should contact another agent at Nationwide.

I don't think Hagerty will insure it. I think someone already inquired with them and they said it was not under the classification of collector or limited production. If you search, you might be able to find that thread.

that's for the gt350?

MCA membership has some great benefits. The X-plan pricing alone can save folks a lot of money. If you're not already a member, guys, you really should sign up.

My wife and I have used Geico for y-e-a-r-s and it is now time to shop.

I am 43 and haven't had a claim in a very long time (never with Geico in fact).
Claim I had was when I was a teenager and it was nothing crazy.

Just looked them up and saw this:

The vehicle is only used for pleasure use and is never used for back-up transportation or errand running.

That is pretty prescriptive. I wonder if anyone has ever had an issue on a claim based on that provision.
