I don't think thats only with Ford. I know if you have a tune with GM if you have a good relationship with your dealership and have to have warranty work done some will ignore you have/had a tune (they can tell if you had a tune and removed it) But if its a warranty problem that GM has to send out a tech engineer thats the first thing he will diagnose and void the warranty right there on the spot.

Yeah and this is my hesitation to do any kind of tuning on this car. The minute Ford Sees a big bill on the horizon they will come up with any way to get out of it. Good luck man
Yup, I can imagine. Never thought I'd be in this situation before, especially considering I didn't really do anything except full exhaust. I only did the tune because I thought I'd have to ride around ghetto with a CEL on all day.

I don't know man I think you want to keep the Ford tech out of this otherwise they're going to hose you. I wonder how much a new ECU cost.

Not too sure I have any other choice. I'm not too sure I want to risk paying another mechanic tons of money if it indeed is proven to be something unrelated to the tune, you know? Most Ford can do is just say my warranty is voided and I hope to never have any issue again.

maybe you can work with the ngauge some more. For example, there is this throttle_cmd %, scaled 0 to 100. If that is steady, and the RPM is changing, that would interesting.

Hmm, not a bad idea. I actually used to have it monitoring for TP_A i think it was for throttle position or something. That's actually a great point. Thanks for that idea.

Thanks for the logs.

If you look at the PPS-APP1 (throttle pedal position) in Log 19 there's something whacky going on. It thinks you're bouncing on/off the throttle pedal... I assume you weren't doing that anyway... You can also clearly see the revs climb when you lift off of the throttle pedal at the mid point of the log

https://datazap.me/u/docwalt/surging-gt350-log-19?log=0&data=1-9

Here's logs 17 & 18. I don't see anything in 18, but 17 has the throttle pedal issues again.

https://datazap.me/u/docwalt/surging-gt350-log-17?log=0&data=1-9

https://datazap.me/u/docwalt/surging-gt350-log-18?log=0&data=1-9

Does this issue happen when cruise control is on?
So I finally flew in from Chicago today and reproduced the issue. My car doesn't let me set cruise control while these issues are occurring. If I keep tapping it repeatedly for a few minutes (yep minutes) then it eventually lets me set the speed for a split second, and then it stops and doesn't let me resume or set the speed again..

maybe you can work with the ngauge some more. For example, there is this throttle_cmd %, scaled 0 to 100. If that is steady, and the RPM is changing, that would interesting.
So I had the Ngauge on one of the throttle sensors, and while the car was jerking, I didn't see any changes. I monitored for MAF and throttle sensor. Seemed to be the same before, during, and after the issues occurred.

Try cruise control but pull UP on the clutch pedal with your foot.

Do you have anything done with the wiring down in the pedal area? There's some really weird stuff going on that's pedal related.

Nope. Nothing weird down there. So pulling up as if just to make sure the clutch isn't partially engaged?

Pull up to make sure the clutch pedal is all the way up and pushing the clutch switch properly.

You can use ForScan and do a ton of data logging to see if there's a pedal switch/sensor issue.

Gotcha. Sounds good! I'll give that a shot most likely tomorrow. Thanks a lot man!
