Ok guys I need some help with a research project! Obviously there are quite a few members on this site with premium 2016 mustangs with sync 3 already installed. If it is at all possible, could someone pop the USB input panel out of their console? It is similar to the part below. It is really simple to do with no clips to break. I need to see if this hub is a powered hub or just a plastic bezel with a usb port.

I got this part for a guy a week ago,
It was just a bezel with a female mini USB (like the Sync module) and other 2 connectors for SD and charging port.

Yeah I can get more, it was $120 shipped to Europe so I'm guessing it's just $10-$20 extra shipped to the U.S.

Ok so it seems like the 16s come with two different Hubs. One like the one above and another one that should have a simple 4 pin connector on back. I'm wondering what this hub came in. Anyone with a base model care to pull their hub out and check?

No... the ones that have sync 3 go into the hub n the armrest and put to the front

I honestly just need the bezel part not the actual hub. Are you able to just get the hub? How much would that be shipped to California 95687?

OK, did a fast read...
I'm already running the MFT 2 swap.
To upgrade to 2.0 sync3, all I really need is the screen/APIM. Disconect the card reader and add the GPS ant... Wires are the same. Sound about right??

How much OEM? Screen and programed APIM.

Remove the original GPS antenna as well and you should be all set! To get carplay working you will need a new usb hub with carplay capability.

How do you get updates after you convert? since when you login to owner.ford, it will think that you still have the sync2?

You would just need a vin from premium 17 or get the updates through OEMRadio.
