I finally got around to installing my half shafts. Driver's side went smoothly. Passenger side, well, I can't get the stock axle to click out of the diff. Any one else have this problem? Anyone got any tips on how to get it out? Thanks in advance!

You need 2 people to remove it 1 to pry it and the other pull it at the same time!

Thanks for the ideas. I spent another couple hours tonight trying to pry it out with a 24" ripper bar, but to no avail. I even tried pressing on the bar with both feet while pulling on the axle to mimic the two-person approach, still nothing. I'll have to pick up 36" bar tomorrow and see if the extra leverage gets the job done. So strange since the the driver's side came out in a minute with a 12" pry bar and not too much effort...

i had no issues.... i just pushed it in to relieve and pressure there might be on it and just gave it a good tug and it popped right out... i did both my axles from start to finish in just over an hour.

C-Clip on my Driver side got stuck and I had a hard time getting mine out too. I eventually used a cold chisel and hammer to get it out.

I picked up a 36" bar and worked at it for a couple more hours, and got nowhere. I ordered this. Should be here Thursday, hopefully it does the trick. Otherwise I don't know what I'm going to do...

The axle popper tool I ordered from Amazon came in today and it got the job done. I didn't have to use the shim piece, just the wedge. C-clip was pretty jacked and had lots of tracking from the splines. But the job is done, nonetheless.

If for some reason I have to replace these, I'll probably go the Ford Racing route.

I forget the exact details, but DSS had a supplier who wasn't producing some parts to their specs, and it was causing the bolts around the CV housings to back out, even with thread locker. Reportedly they have that cleared up. I ordered mine around that time (they've been sitting for a while), but I checked the torque spec on them before installing and they were perfect, so I'm not expecting any problems from them.
