In mostly city I'd expect 15-17. I drive about a 50/50 mix for my 30 round-trip and get 19-20. Stop lights are a killer, but this car will do close to 30 mpg on the highway on long trips. I regularly clocked 27+ mpg on 300 mile all-highway trips.

My fear has come true. I am averaging 19.8, not a problem if the tank was bigger. Car needs a bigger tank.

Combined I don't get more than 18.3. I keep the RPM's low as often as I can. I have the PP package with 3.73 gears.

Dang, do you red line it at every stop light? I'm impressed haha. I average 16-17 doing mostly city driving. And I don't drive that slowly either.

And GTLoco, you'll be fine. My commute to work and back home is roughly 24 miles in the city and I refill the car roughly every 1.5 weeks. I imagine you'll be refilling once a week.
LOL I'm not redlining at every stop light, I've only bounced off the rev limiter a few times. I have a very short commute, 1.5 miles each way and I'm lucky if anyone actually drives at least the 45 mph limit on my way home. I'm usually stuck behind someone that can't accelerate to the speed limit at all and can't get out of 3rd gear. In the morning there's very little traffic so it's not as bad. On weekends when I actually drive a good distance and get to open her up, I see 13-14 mpg.

Drive it like it's meant to be driven and you'll get around 14-15mpg.

Drive it like an old lady and you'll get around 20 in the city, 27-28 on the highway.
Where's the fun in that?

The duality of me.
Sometimes I enjoy romping the hell out of it.
Sometimes I enjoy seeing how well I can drive with economy as a goal.

-But only when I am driving on company time.

Hey guys,

I got a new Mustang GT and I am picking it up this week.

My only concern is the gas mileage. I will be driving to work (city driving mostly). I wanted to know realistically what I can expect with regards to gas consumption. I expect to drive 30 miles in the city per day.

If you guys can give me some input that would be great. I know its a V8. I didn`t plan on getting one, but just got a sweet deal and was hard to turn it down.
If you care about gas mileage you shouldn't be buying a 435hp mustang

really depends on your right foot, but I think 14-15MPG would be what you should expect. Mix in hwy driving and you should be at 18ish.

If I get over 15 mpg in the city it would be a miracle! I drive the shit out of this thing. Im honestly confused on all the threads about V8 gas mileage. If you are getting more than 15 mpg city you should just got a Eco or 3.7.
