There’s a thread where someone has tested the GT500 paddles and they didn’t work. It may eve nothing more than a wiring pinout swap or something to make them work, but I never bought them to test.

Here is what I recently installed (purchased off eBay) when changing out the Steering Wheel. I had Red CF extensions previously but the red seemed to be too strong visually, given it's size.

It worked just fine on my test drive. I made a significant modification to the bottom that you'll see in latter photos that addressed inadvertent knee gear changing which I've been having occur when knees are up against the steering wheel backside.

Note: I did apply red paint in the grooves (both front and back) to give a little accent.

The customization of the lower section (to shorten it to prevent inadvertent knee shifting) I used a vise adequately padded to prevent damage, a hacksaw to get close to the desired contours. The free-form contours were shaped using a Dremel soft-metal cutting bit. The profile was then finalized using a Dremel "sanding drum", followed by 400 grit wet/dry sand paper to get the final finish. Not too much work but with a bit of patience and care I was pleased.

Notice...for those wishing to upgrade, or otherwise remove the steering wheel later. The air-bag retainer clip access holes are blocked by the add-on extensions. The double-faced tape provided (at least with the one I purchased) has great adhesive. It can be removed with a bit of effort, but if you need to remove it, use a plastic trim removal tool and start from the bottom. I guess you can figure out how I know.
