I would personally go with a 275/50/17 radial. I think the 45 series is too low profile. I go 1.6x in my M6 car with that combo and I can't get them to spin at the track.

I have a set of MT 325/30/19 for a 19x10 rim on order... hopefully they are not too low profile and hook me....

What was the DA when you ran? For your mod list I would have expected 122-123mph with a DA under 2k or thereabouts.

I just downloaded Drag Times DA calculator... I had no clue how much a 2400 DA can effect you!:eyebulge: vs a -44

Hopefully, I just don't know why when people are trying to hook they go with some low pro steam roller donk radials but to each their own. They are going 7's in the 1/4 with 275's, adding weight and width isn't going to help.

Well here is why I did this, Looks and my brakes. I need at least a 17" rim for rear. The car isn't an all out drag car. When I purchased new rims, I want the rears to match on the street and track. That was the best option for my setup. Will it get me Max E.T., no, I get that. Will I be able to get a low 1.7 to a 1.6X, we will see. This is a test and I'm sure they will do better than PZero stock tires! And around 10lbs less on each corner!

First time I ran at the strip it was -600, the second time was 3,500+!

How did your times differ if you don't mind?

Ran a 12.19 @ 116mph on a basically stock(crap tune and crap catback) 2011 in -600, was around 12.5-13.0 at 111-113mph in 3,500+ with the same setup plus new shifter. The next year I ran a 12.4 at 117mph in similar conditions(about 3,000 da) but with a better tune and higher rev limiter. At 116mph I was hitting the rev limiter in 4th gear about 100ft before the finish.

I think the low profile tires hurt us at the track thats why I'm looking at 17's with a bigger sidewall tire for track only!

Your auto trans is a lot more forgiving though. I've seen some crazy 60's with guys running 20" wheels.

The installers cut his factory hood. There are pics in this thread earlier on that show the hood with the material removed for clearance.

Hey OP, just noticed you have a CJ mani, did you have to drop the engine for hood clearance?

This is correct, Finish Line Performance cut the hood with the install.

also something to consider is a 325/30/19 is a 26.7" diameter tire which will probably raise your final drive compared to a typical 28" setup. Not sure if that will hurt/help with an automatic.

Is there a drag-specific tire in that size or is that a street tire?
