Edit: and don’t be surprised that if Checo keeps performing poorly he will be replaced also by Ricciardo and Checo demoted to the AlphaTauri team. Ricciardo has no aspirations to win a championship he just wants to drive for a top team. Perfect for Max. It’ll be Hamilton/Botas all over again.

I don’t understand Checo some times. It’s like his brain has a complete disconnect to the situation. Was watching and thinking he’s way hot for just start’n and bam. Not good. Ricardo actually looks pretty decent.

Still think the field is closing the gap to Verstappen and Redbull? There putt’n on a clinic right now. Like them or not they are dialed in. I almost feel a little for Hamilton. The high of gett’n pole went away real quick. McLaren looked great today. Checo really changed his fortunes today as well. Never paid as close attention but that circuit and facility is really nice. Great venue. Not a fan of the tire bs during practice either. F1 needs to stop with the games.

It’s good to see Lewis on top, at least in qualifying. Turn one is going to be fun tomorrow. Can’t wait!

Yeah, about that closing the gap……Never Mind! During the race they asked Max “just checking in”. It’s like a freakin test session for him. Lewis said Max would get by him quickly even if he managed to lead though turn one. And those McLaren’s. Boy do they have pace. It was good to see Checo getting aggressive. It’s not his style but he had to make a point. And he certainly did. Lastly a tip of the hat to Daniel. It was good seeing him back. Not a bad day for a driver in a car for the first time.

Some notes:

Red Bull doing their thing again.

Ferrari still doing the weird strategies.

Mercedes losing out to ANOTHER works team. First it was Aston Martin, now it’s Mclaren. Next will be Williams.

Ryan Reynolds is probably rethinking the Alpine investment.
