Iā€™ve been contemplating an H pipe for my Saleen, how did you all choose X vs H? Any differences in manufacturer?

X keeps more of the raspy tone of the coyote, H has a bit of a deeper tone to it. Really all depends on what youā€™re looking for but both sound really good. I went with Steeda because itā€™s 304 stainless and got a heck of a deal during their Black Friday sale. Shouldā€™ve bought the X too just to have.

Buy the X pipe you like and get it welded. If thereā€™s a little gap between pipe sizes, have the welders seal it. My BBK midpipes are 2.5ā€ and my GT350 exhaust x pipe is 2.75ā€ and there was some play room when they slid into each other and clamps didnā€™t work so I got it sealed and welded and it works just fine.

thanks. Iā€™ve been leaning H cause I like the deep tones. Looks like Iā€™ll have to pick up a steeda pipe.

@tj@steeda.

Send him an X pipe and let him test fit it. If it doesn't fit return his money.
Looking for anyone with a 2023 that is interested in a discount & test fitting - the OP wasn't able to do it.

Sorry guys, I don't want to risk having anything go wrong. This is my daily driver and I cannot afford any downtime.

I understand but it is only exhaust. The down time if it won't fit is about an hour.

Agree with @K4fxd , your risk or downside is very low an hour or so max. And honestly, I would highly doubt the fitment would be different from 2021/2022 to 2023. Nothingā€™s ever zero until you actually install it but Iā€™m 99.99% confident youā€™d have no issues fitting their X pipe. Just my $0.02

edit: FWIW, I daily mine also and I would have no problem test fitting an X or H pipe for a manufacturer, especially at a discounted rate. But if youā€™re not comfortable with it, totally get it.

I just checked Roush's web-site and they now offer the X and H Pipes for model year 2023.

Also, I have a question for everyone. Once you remove the factory resonator, do you have to replace it with an X or H pipe? What happens performance and sound-wise, if you replace it with just straight, stainless steel pipe?

Then it is like an old school muscle car. Think 60's and 70's

No performance difference but the sound as mentioned may sound more like an old truck.

One last question for guys/gals with a 2022 and the 450 hp. When you replaced the resonator with an X or H pipe, did you notice more decel pop?
