Thank you, Bryant. Theirs looks almost identical to Trufiber's wing. I told myself I didn't wanna go half-assed with mods on this car. I kind of feel anything but C2C's wing will result in regret later on down the line. Decisions...
Anytime! I definitely know what you mean...I was in exactly this same boat a few months ago haha. If you don't want to go half-assed, unfortunately you're going to have to shell out the extra money for the C2C wing.

I will say though that for myself, I don't regret spending the extra money. It definitely wasn't cheap but when I cruise around and see all the other replica R wings, I'm like "money well spent"

Would the extra holes that need to be drilled for the R spec wing be covered by the track pack spoiler if I put it back on? And does S550 Carbon have an R style wing? It seems 50 Deep has the C2C wing...
Yes I do have that wing. Had it next to my buddy straightliner1 's R this weekend at a show. They are identical as far as I can see. He may weigh in also
Not sure if the holes would be covered up if you were to go back to the track pack spoiler. But that may be why most on the forum suggest buying a new trunk lid altogether

S550 Carbon has an R style wing - https://carbonplug.com/s550carbon/carbon-fiber-gt350r-wing

But you're correct, 50 Deep has the C2C wing since he wanted to be like me :headbonk:

Any deviation from the OEM shape between the C2C R wing and the OEM unit is minimal to my eyes. *corrective lens wearer disclaimer* The build and quality on 50 Deep's carbon wing is impeccable. Interestingly enough, there was a British Lotus Super 7 at the show with carbon bits, including wheel tubs (remember, they are "open wheel" cars) and the weave in the fabric wasn't straight. I noticed a couple of unexplained doglegs in the pattern along flat, continuous lines. That would drive me bonkers! I noticed no such variances in 50 Deep's C2C wing or other CF accessories.

Are there others equal to C2C quality and OEM shape or are they just that much above the rest? The C2C CF R wing is $1800 where at least 3 or 4 other vendors are $750 range.

Unfortunately C2C is the only current option available if you're looking for quality and OEM shape. Quality wise I'd say Trufiber or Anderson are up there but the shaping and width of those R spoilers isn't close to OEM.

Nothing wrong at all with buying them for the car but if an R pulls up next to you, the difference in spoilers will be highly noticeable. I think it just comes down to what you care about (a cf wing in general, cf wing with OEM shape and size, etc.) and if you're willing to spend the extra money or not

I am looking for increased down force for the track as opposed to cosmetics so function is very important thus OEM shape. The CF weight savings is a bonus as I was planning the CF decklid (painted) and R wing.

What about this one?

Looks identical to the Trufiber wing. Thanks to Socal350 I'm going with the C2C wing. No compromises! :D May just have to wait to install until I can afford the new decklid to go with it.

Edit: as far as performance is concerned, I know of some people who have tracked with Trufiber's wing and claim increased stability, better times, etc... So...there's that.

Which one of these CF companies is notorious for the clear coating yellowing and/or clouding fairly quickly?

I am looking into doing this project myself.

- Trunk lid costs $1000
- Painting it is another $300-400
- Need to buy the vinyl stripe just for piece probably $200-300
- Wing $1800

All in all its going to be $3000-4000 give or take.

Using the existing trunk lid is not a good idea unless the car is white. Matching the paint will be difficult and blending is required as you will be painted over the already painted areas on the trunk lid.

I'm doing it right now.
Carbon fiber trunk $700 shipped. either leave if exposed carbon fiber finish or vinyl wrap it.
Still deciding the wings but I think C2C is the only one I would get. $1800+287 shipping
For the strips I would also use some 3M vinyl and cut them myself.
So the total would be $2567 with exposed carbon fiber finish or about $2600 with 3M vinyl wrap trunk and strips.

Well CA sales tax brought my total with shipping to MORE than $287. $144 tax and $241 for shipping. Ugh!
