Does SYNC3 support Apple CarPlay?

I am looking into getting a 2018 Mustang with 101A option that has the bigger LCD screen and SYNC3. Does it mean that it can support Apple CarPlay?

Yes, 2017s and up with the 8" screen support it and Android Auto.

And I think you mean 301A, there's no 101A option.

Yes. It won't be wireless though.

Just to be clear wireless is not a factory option in any year S550. We will hopefully see it in the S650.

Copy that! I only mentioned because before I bought my car, I also wanted to be sure it had Apple Car-Play. I read that it did, but I also assumed it would be wireless... because I'm a spoiled bougie 1st-worlder like that

Thanks everyone. Now I can focus my search on the ones with 8" screen/Sync3, but they are hard to come by. Looks like most of them from Carmax/Carvana are the base model with the smaller screen. S650 is coming out next year, right? Hope, by that time, a lot of S550 owners would trade in their cars for S650, making more S550 available in the used car market.

If there is a S650 it will not be until late 2022. If you can wait they may be some good on leftover 2022’s. Also by then hopefully we are long past the chip issues.

i think wireless carplay is pointless. when i am using carplay i want to also keep my phone charged. since the mustang lacks wireless charging i have to use a cable anyway.

No, but I'm sure you can plug your Blackberry in, or sync it with your Palm Pilot
