yes , if you use coyote piston which has a higher CH
compared to the voodoo piston. .

JE/Diamond/Manley make aftermarket 5.2/ voodoo spec pistons - with the shorter CH

If you use those pistons with a boss crank(like i have in my 18GT ) you will have lower CR.
So I assume that when they use the custom pistons its the reliefs and chamber volume that's calculated to give the correct compression, hell I didn't know any off the shelf pistons would give a straight 12:1 and have enough valve clearance for gen3/voodoo with a pred/voodoo crank

I assume they factor in all the above .
Here is the JE

they make them in 12:1 and 12:5

When you have a combination that a lot of people use piston company’s have enough sales to justify having pistons on the shelf

Nominally, the piston will only be .007" higher in the bore when using gen3 pistons/5.2 crank/stock length rods combination. Stock, the 5.0/5.2 piston in about .012" below the deck at TDC.

builder says the block deck height is also different too didn't ask what it was specifically. but I'm sure they know better than me.

8.937" is the published deck height of all Coyote/Voodoo/Predator blocks. If they deck the block as part of their build process then obviously that distance changes. Then easy enough to compensate with HG thickness.

The gasket thickness is what .039? I think I'll just run a stock predator one.

FWIW, I have an unused set of the Predator gaskets. Uncompressed they measure about .068". I haven't seen anything published as to their compressed thickness.
