As winter rolls in and temperatures drop I've noticed my CHTs not going much past 180 on the highway. The picture is 6th gear at 80, if I engine break for 10 seconds it will go down to 173!

I understand this is because of my 170* therm but am wondering if there is anything to worry about. @BmacIL have you see similar cht temps?

I noticed the same thing out of my 170* reische thermostat yesterday in 25 degree weather. Seemed normal to me.

I'd say it's normal for your thermostat, but not something you want in the winter. Fwiw mine with the stock thermostat and AED tune stay in the 190s when it's fully warm at highway cruise, even in the summer.

That's plenty warm for them. I think the 160 thermostats are the ones that are too extreme. My problem is getting grip in this colder weather.

Ya I'm e85 on the FF tune. Maybe if I switch to gasoline it might bump me up a couple degrees in the CHT department.

The E85 is a contributing factor for sure but I wouldn't be concerned about those temps. I'd be very happy, I see 200-210 over here in Florida lol.

I am totally ok with that lmao, I do like cold weather, as long as it comes in short waves. I go snowboarding in Colorado from time to time and love it there.
