Finally pulled the trigger and took delivery of a Ruby Red, EcoBoost, manual, PP with Recaros, yesterday. This is what I noticed when I came out to the car later. Dealer is 3 hours away. Anyone know what this connector goes to?

If you can wait 'til I get home from work I'll crawl under mine and try to figure out what it goes to. In the meantime, I would at least ziptie it away from the exhaust pipe.

Looks kind of like the temp sensor for the rear diff.

Thanks YukonRally. I figured it went to the diff or a fuel tank. I didn't realize the EcoBoost cars had a diff temp sensor.

Thanks TorqueMan. No need to crawl around. I appreciate the offer, though.

I was taking a swag based off my 5.0. Were you able to verify if it was the sensor?

I have the same connector that doesn't connect to anything. I don't think its caused any issues yet (I have a 2016 EB PP with 18k miles).

That's what I was gonna say. It should be an unused connector that's used on other models, as noted above.

Hmmm. I found a similar connector directly above the differential--see attachment. I took the photo from the right side of the differential, in front of the right axle looking up. Note the retaining clip securing the wire. Is it possible this is a diagnostic port?
