So the last post was quiet awhile ago. Now that the mustangs have been out for a bit, what have you found to be the best audio settings and for which type of music?

I'm particular to hip hop/rap, but that's not all that I listen to.

I have the 9 speaker system, and my preference is:
Bass +3
Midrange +1
Treble +2
Mostly rock, pop, and some big band stuff. Just enough "oomph" with the bass, highs come thru without being screechy.

Bass: 100%
Middle: 60%
Treble: 20%

That's the setting I usually go for. I listen to electronic and sometimes metal/rock. This setting gives the bass a nice kick that I enjoy.

Are there any presets? Like the Fit that I came from had pre-set equalizer settings for different music types that were relatively easily accessible. I have a tendency to swap back and forth between rock, hip hop, podcasts/audiobooks, and vocal heavy folk stuff so digging through SYNC to alter fiddly +/- settings is maybe not great as potentially doing that while driving would take my eyes off the road for a long time to get stuff set.

I wish there was a preset, but I haven't found one. Doesn't really seem there is much options for these premium sound system.

12 Speaker System, set sound range to Driver and not all around. Sounds much better.

I tried that, sounded actually more empty. All seats made the car sound more full.

Do that and then play something that bounces between the left and right channel and I bet you switch it off. ;)

Love the way this sounds! Was really disappointed in the sound quality before I used these settings.

What type of music do you use this with?

+1

I believe Driver mode uses some form of time alignment to improve stereo imaging and put the soundstage right in front of you where it belongs. In other words, it compensates for the fact that your head is closer to the left speakers than the right.

In All Seats mode, there is no such compensation, so any audio shared by both channels of the stereo mix will come predominantly from the left, and imaging will suffer as a consequence.

As for EQ settings, I tend to vary them slightly depending on what I'm listening to, but I've found these to be a good starting point for most stuff:

Bass +2
Midrange +3
Treble +2

Do you still use the driver setting even when you have someone in your passenger seat?

Sure. If they complain they can find another ride.
