So it's all up to this FPV GT351 to steal back some thunder off HSV before the close of 2014... It will be based on the current FG model and not the next (FH), therefore it will miss out on the new facelift and all the upgrades found under the skin and interior. It'll be behind the eight ball in many respects but I'm hoping it's grunt will give us something to cheer about.

Although it's "only" 351kW (471hp) (which is a bump up from the current 335kW, which usually registers around 325rwkw on any dyno, which is more than what HSV's 430kW LSA-powered GTS can generate on the same dynos) it should really be nudging 600hp :headbang:

We've hounded our local press to throw them up on dynos like they've done in the past but they simply refuse. :frusty:

Folks, this will be the last battle down under between Holden and Ford. The advantage is currently in HSV's court with it's recent GTS. It has a half decent motor (rated to 430kW but I've argued it doesn't have 400), a chassis better optimised for handling, MRC suspension, all the gizmos, additives and preservatives you can think of. In all honesty it really is a special vehicle. It is the last of the breed, the last Australian made Commodore.

The next Falcon will also be the last Falcon, as you already know, however Ford will not afford the same budget to it as what Holden did for Commodore; the latter being an export product, GM chipped in heavily to it's budget, specifically the interior.

FH will be released in December this year, the same time the GT badge dies on Falcon in Australia. It will carry on with the blown Coyote in the resurrected-XR8 badged Falcon, which is to the FPV GT what the Mustang GT is to the SVT GT500, so it makes do without the performance brakes, suspension and power as the soon to be unveiled 351 GT.
