Anyone MANUAL with abt 800WHP with good street traction? What’s your setup? For dig & roll.

Thanks guys for your input.

How is this guy running Pilot sport 4s and having good traction? He says hes making 800WHP

Traction control and a feather input... I'll also tell you that I flew off the on ramp at 90mph when the car went sideways shifting gears and TC off... With... MP4's... I was *that* Mustang driver...

So you think he’s lying about his power levels? They both go on and on about how great the traction is lol

Um... I don't give a shit about his power levels.. You are asking the question.. TIRES.. YOU NEED TIRES... I don't give a shit about your suspension mods.. TIRES... First thing...

MP4's are useless at 800whp... Go buy some.. Turn TC off... Let me know what you think, if you are alive to tell me about it....

I couldn't even imagine an 800whp drag mode shift with MP4's and TC off.

I’m saying that I agree with you it’s very hard to believe his claims. That’s not even a drag radial. And yeah I’m done with my suspension just need a good tire. I need one for my 20 rims and maybe a separate set of Hoosier.
Im trying to look up the R2. What’s the full name of the tire?

Sorry... I'm a bit of an ass lately, tires are probably the best mod I've done to the car.. Nitto 555RII. For the price of the MP4's (which are probably the best summer tires for a stock Mustang?) and the power level, I can't recommend anything other than a DR... I get 5,000 to 6,000 miles out them if that helps... I got 8,000 out of MP4's.... In the rear at least..

For what its worth I’m on same wheel setup as you being a 20x11. I run a 315/30r20 toyo r888r but iam a 10 spd auto at stock power levels I just got them and on cold night I can still break a little loose off the hit and do good chirp into second on the drag mode setting. After a warm up they dead hook and when it’s warm out they dead hook all the time but this is at stock power levels with an auto gonna be fbo e85 soon so hoping this keeps working. being manual and supercharged I would go for a bias ply to help that tranny probably a mickey et street r. sadly 20 inch wheels and being a drag car don’t really mix together. If just doing rolls I would say try the toyo it should hook well from what I seen on the Shelby’s.

Thanks I think you’ll be fine even with E85. A friend of mine has that same setup with E85 10 speed and he has 305/30/20 and he hooks with the G2s

@Unas2k5 thanks thats good to hear the street is rough once you get up there in power ha ha best of luck. I put my vote on some toyos if you just like a little highway pull here and there and some spirited driving corners and what not they seem to be the jack of all trades for this kind of stuff. they wear bad as well tho I know your kinda looking for something dd friendly these prolly won’t be it ha ha

700+ here and the G2s are trash. If you value your life, get some tires, night and day difference. Been running the r888r's and havent looked back

Thanks I’ll look those up. I have every intention of getting a good set of drag radials. I made this threat to choose which ones. The G2 are what I bought before I was supercharged. That light pass I made in that video is with those tires.

I ran G2's on my GT500, and they are terrible for running from a dig. I had Mickey Thompson ET Streets in a 285/50/18 (IIRC) and I could still break them loose. Now that 5.4 had waaaay more torque down low than the Coyote and I was running 3.73's in that car.

G2? Fucked you are... R2.... Thats what you need. I have 19" RII's and 20" MT S/S... Depending on track prep they are both pretty nice. Street wise? Just keep TC on on... You will be fine. With R2's... Get rid of your G2's... I couldn't even imagine...
Yep this dude wants to kill himself.

I can’t imagine 800hp manual with G2s. I couldn’t even stand them at stock hp with a nice auto. Atleast he probably got really good at controlling his car.

OP, G2s are like driving on ice. They suck in the rain they suck when it’s dry, they want to kill you, all the time.
