I will ask, it is a speed shop and they said it would be fine in the barrel, I'll test it each time I pull from the barrel since this is my first run of doing this. The shop is called Oil and Octane, they have a web site and carry both VP and Sunco full lines of fuel. Been around apparently a long time I just never knew. But thanks for the heads up. I just didnt want to risk the 70% at the local E85 stations.
Is it really worth paying 6-10 bucks a gallon to go e85 vs e70? I guess it depends on how hard you run it and how much fuel you burn.

I’ll show my ignorance, but I thought E70 was fine. It seems like a lot of people used to say anything over E50 was “good enough.” Isn’t E70 I’m the 105 octane range, and doesn’t it still provide a good amount of cooling?

It all depends on how HOT you your car is and what your tuner is comfortable with.

Speaking for my self here, I don’t have pump close to me. I buy c85 for track days and events. Then I fill the empty barrels with pump and use that for the street under 15psi. Usually tests at 80-87. If I get a batch under that I still use it but at 10psi max. To each their own. IMO pump e85 is good to 900-1000 rear wheel.

I see. I am no where near 900RWHP, and I only run a 79mm on my 2.3L VMP which they say is 11ish psi. I only run pump E85 which is E70 here year round. All logs have been clean, but I feel I run a little rich.

I’m sure you are rich. Everything I’ve seen all e85 cars error on the rich side. My white bumper is black after an event. Lol. I would just test each batch and watch for knock. Save your money and only run race if have money on the line or at an event.

Are you to TMG on FB?
I'm sorry I dont know what you mean TMG.

My car was tuned in KC on E90 you could get at the pump. So when I got home and tested all the stations as E70 was the best I could get, and they said it's like 50-55 in the winter I didnt want to risk it. PBD said if I wanted to run the pump 70 he could just retune for that. If I had thought i probably would have just paid for the extra working 3rd tune for 70, then have the 85, a 70, and a 93 unleaded. I may still at some point. But I dont daily the car, my STi got 9k miles in the 3 years I had it. And the 85 was no where in that 6-10 range. I think if I figure the barrel and delivery and fuel it might be like 5 a gallon.

Well depends on where in KS, and such but this shop is in Springfield Missouri. So not that far possibly.

Wichita'ish. Nearest dealer is KC'ish (according to Ignite's website). I'd be willing to go to Springfield for 4 barrels.
